Come join us for English Conversation classes at University Lutheran Chapel in College Station this fall, where we will be discussing all kinds of topics, including American history and culture; idioms; the Gospel of John; and anything else that you want to talk about!

MONDAYS (beginning August 27)

 “20th Century American History”

10:30– 11:45 a.m., led by Allan

Have you ever wondered what people and events shaped the United States of America the most? If so, this class is for you. Allan will lead you each week in study/discussion about famous people, places and events that shaped our nation in the last century, beginning with World War I.


TUESDAYS (beginning August 28)

“The Gospel of John, chapters 18-21” 10:30 – 11:45 a.m., led by Pastor Paul

The passion and resurrection of Jesus Christ—John chapters 18-21—will be the focus for this Bible study. Reading the Bible is a great way to learn and practice your English! Free Bibles—both in English and your language—are available.


WEDNESDAYS (beginning August 29)

“Write like an American!”

10:30– 11:45 a.m., led by Lydia

This class will focus on improving your English writing skills with weekly assignments. Some materials may be Christian-based.

Cooking Class 5-6 p.m., led by Lydia

Join Lydia on Wednesday afternoons in this cultural exchange as we learn the vocabulary and skills necessary to cook American dishes, as well as foods from other countries. The more people we have, the more cuisines from around the world we can try!


THURSDAYS (beginning August 30)

 “Read, Write, Listen, Speak!” 10:30 – 11:45 a.m., led by Mary Beth

This class will explore various topics of interest to students, while giving you a chance to sharpen your reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. Some materials may be Christian-based.


FRIDAYS (beginning August 31)

“The Conversation Café” 4-5:30 p.m. 

Come and enjoy snacks, drinks, and English conversation with native speakers. Questions are absolutely welcome! This is an excellent chance for you to practice English conversation in a relaxed, non-classroom setting.
